About me
I am Marigold. I have no academic learning (was absolutely hopeless at school) so the central theme of my writings is the result of my own experience or realization. My three manuscripts which belong together, describe three stages of my inner growth.
Florence Nightingale was my first idol, my dream to succor the suffering. I wanted to be a doctor but father said I was too stupid, I was and am in fact incapable of grasping theory and book knowledge. So I took up nursing and was a howling success with my patients, not with theory !
I then assisted a veterinary surgeon for over thirty years nursing pets as well as tigers. They helped me to understand human nature. It was then that I wrote my first book (Il cane questo incompreso) on the impossibility of teaching children and animals discipline without having learnt self-discipline ! So, of course I had to start with myself !
Paramhansa Yogananda, founder of Self Realisation Fellowship in Los Angeles was the wisest and consequently the greatest Master I know of. I was mainly attracted to him by his scientific approach to religion which is so lacking in other schools. He was to become my dearest and closest friend whilst his wisdom guided me in my search for Truth
Here are his sayings which are repeatedly quoted in my writings : "Science and religion should go hand in hand"
"Without doubt and investigation you will never find God" (or the answer to your questions) - "Neither God nor Guru can help you until you surrender to Cosmic Laws"
My little chick symbolizes a new birth a new awakening - of Cosmic Consciousness shattering the shell of ego-consciousness which had since long imprisoned and ruled it.
A charming and sophisticated lady who was presenting a very well written book said amongst other things I find style very important, don't you agree with me ?! Of course it has its importance but if you belong to those who consider it more important than the contents or argument you will be very shocked by me. My style is 100% colloquial and equally un-academic. My aim is not to write a beautiful book but to help those which have understood the importance of an inner transformation - of their attitude towards life and Existence itself - and would like to make it their priority. As hell is paved with good intentions and superficiality is one of our major characteristics, we all too easily loose track. Sentences written in bold (considered very bad taste) are there to call us back to attention and leave a living imprint in our minds.
As long as I live, I will always be there to help you when it is needed but in the meantime never forget Richard Lionheart's words : it is not necessary to hope (for success) in order to start, nor to succeed in order to persevere. So never give up ! And Paramhansa Yogananda's warning that neiher god nor guru can help you until you surrender to Cosmic Laws.
